Strong Painting - 6x8"

This is an original mixed media painting entitled Strong. It is signed on the front and back, and it is ready to hang.

I create small paintings as a way to practice new styles and experiment with different mediums, so each mini piece is truly unique. They are also very affordably priced and make fun, meaningful gifts.

This piece features a tiger that began as a photograph I took during one of my zoo visits and collaged directly into the artwork. From there, I layered acrylic paint and colored pencil over the surface, building bold textures and expressive color. Thick paint is applied using an impasto technique, creating raised areas you can see and feel on the canvas. Purples, sky blue, yellows, and soft neutrals add energy and movement to the piece, while the word strong brings a simple, powerful message.
