Here's How the Process Works!
At checkout, make your choice of 5 color schemes (or select that you need more guidance before deciding). You'll also choose either your pet's natural eye color or what is in the color scheme. See the color schemes in the photos above.
Within 24 hours of purchase, I'll contact you via email. At that time, you'll respond with several photos of your pet to use as a basis for the painting. I'll select the best one, crop it to fit the size of painting, and you will approve the reference photo prior to me starting painting.
The photos need to allow me to clearly see the features of your pet's face. Larger image sizes are preferred so I can zoom in on the details. Photos taken with modern phone cameras usually work well. Older printed out photos from film, typically will not work; they will be too blurry.
I'm able to finish most paintings within 1-4 weeks (except for Christmas, which has longer wait times). When you purchase, you're automatically next in line in my queue.
While I'm painting your portrait, you will get several emails from me with photos of your painting in progress.
Also, please reach out if you have questions before signing up! I'm happy to help clarify any part of the process before you purchase.
You're looking at a photo of my cat alongside the painting I created from it. As you can see, I use the exact same pose from the photo as the reference for the painting. I don’t combine multiple photos or change the pose. I work directly from a single image to capture your pet as they are. The better the photo, the better the final painting will turn out!

Answers to Common Questions
Can I get a portrait in natural colors or black and white?
I don't paint pets in black and white or normal/naturalistic colors. I like to think that I paint an animal's soul along with how they look in real life. And to me, all of their souls are filled with rainbows of happy colors :)
That said, if there's a specific color that you do not like, just let me know when you purchase and I'll limit the use of it in your painting.
Which color scheme is best for my pet's natural eye color?
Many of my color schemes feature either purple or blue eyes because those tend to create the best contrast with the overall rainbow pastel colored palette. There’s a delicate balance between the colors. If I change one color, the eyes don’t always pop the same way. That said, if you'd prefer your pet’s natural eye color, I’m happy to make it work!
I recommend going with color scheme B for animals with brown eyes. This color scheme has a lot of browns in it already, so it will go well with the eye color.
For green or gold eyes, I recommend going with color scheme E; it has a white background and a wider range of colors, which gives me more flexibility to make different eye colors stand out beautifully.
What is the single dominant color scheme?
In this style, the portrait is built around one main color (for example purple, teal, pink, or another shade you love). Your pet’s features and markings stay accurate, but the fur tones shift toward that chosen color so the whole painting feels cohesive and color focused. Supporting colors are still layered in for depth and detail, so it won’t look flat - just unified around one main hue.
This option is perfect if you have a specific color in your home you’d like to match or use as an accent. We can go with a wide range of colors, even something unique like metallic gold as the main color.
After you order, I’ll contact you and you can tell me which main color you’d like, or I can suggest one that complements your pet beautifully.
Are larger custom painting sizes available?
I don't make commissions in sizes larger than 30x40 inches. For the larger sizes, it becomes prohibitively expensive to ship them.
Are smaller custom painting sizes available?
I don’t offer custom paintings smaller than 6x8 inches.
If you're looking for something at a lower price point, you might consider a print of a painting I've already made. I've painted around 325 animals, so I may have painted one that looks like yours! Prints start at only $20! Shop prints here
Can I have more than 1 pet in the same painting?
I currently only paint 1 pet per painting. I think this best allows me to truly depict each animal's soul.
But I’ve also found that many customers end up wanting separate portraits for their other pets later on. Keeping each painting focused on a single pet lets you build a meaningful collection, one special piece at a time.
Are there payment plans?
Absolutely! If you scroll up to the top of the page, you can apply for financing through Shop Pay.
♥ Happiness Guarantee ♥
The main reason behind why I LOVE painting animals is the joy my work brings to people. I love seeing huge smiles on everyone's faces! So if you're not completely happy with your painting, I will issue a full refund. Here's how - prior to mailing your finished painting, I will email you several photos of it. At that point, I can either make adjustments or issue a full refund if you aren't satisfied.
